I’m Demetrius Washington, an executive operations leader, speaker, author, and community advocate with more than two decades of experience helping financial institutions, technology companies, and nonprofit organizations transform strategy into measurable impact.
Today, I serve as Installation Director of Consumer & Commercial Payments at Jack Henry, where I lead high-performing teams responsible for delivering complex payment technology solutions to financial institutions across the country. During my 11-year career at Jack Henry, I’ve held numerous leadership roles beyond my day-to-day responsibilities, including serving as President of the Mosaic of People, Purpose Ambassador, member of the Ethics Steering and Associate Experience committees, and contributor to initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, belonging, and ethical leadership.
Prior to joining Jack Henry, I built my career with industry leaders including U.S. Bank, Metavante/FIS, Fiserv, and Intuit, giving me more than 20 years of experience across banking, financial technology, payments, operational excellence, and client delivery.
My leadership philosophy is rooted in one simple belief: great organizations are built by developing great people. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about coaching leaders, improving business processes, driving operational excellence, and creating environments where teams can thrive while delivering exceptional results for customers.
That same passion extends well beyond the workplace.
I recently concluded my second successful term as President of the National Black MBA Association Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter, where I had the privilege of leading one of the nation’s largest chapters through a period of transformational growth and impact. Under my leadership, the chapter expanded strategic partnerships, strengthened professional development programming, increased scholarship and community investment opportunities, and advanced initiatives focused on education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth community.
Community service has always been central to who I am. Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I experienced firsthand the barriers that many families face. Those experiences shaped my commitment to creating pathways for others—particularly young professionals and underserved communities—to access education, leadership opportunities, financial freedom, and meaningful careers.
Education has played a significant role in my journey. I earned bachelor’s degrees in Sociology from Marquette University and Business Management from Ottawa University, followed by an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University. I also completed an Associate Certificate in Commercial Real Estate through Marquette University, earned a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate from the Kapor Center, participated in the McKinsey Black Executive Leadership Program, and completed Google’s Professional Data Analytics certificate program.
Today, I combine executive leadership with a passion for speaking, writing, and mentoring. Whether presenting at professional conferences, facilitating leadership discussions, or writing about operational excellence, inclusive leadership, financial inclusion, and social impact, my goal is to equip leaders with practical strategies that drive lasting organizational and community change.
When I’m not leading teams or serving the community, you’ll likely find me traveling internationally, exploring different cultures, mentoring emerging leaders, or developing new ideas for future books and keynote presentations.
